What if you could watch humanity happen?

Darwin is an open-world evolution simulator set in the middle of the pacific ocean, on a secret US government sponsored Artificial island, with an environment based on Africa 10 million years ago. You don't play as a character — you play as time itself, watching the chimps in your enclosure evolve. Watch as your chimps develop tools, form tribes, build social hierarchies, and physically change across generations based on the choices they make and the world they survive.

Inspired by the emergent AI of Creatures (1996) and the scope of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, Darwin aims to simulate evolution not as a cutscene — but as a living, breathing consequence system.

This is a passion project built by a small team that believes games can be more than entertainment. They can be a window into what we were, and why we became what we are.
